The Inescapable Me

23 10 2008

I ran from me and found I.

I jumped straight down and had to eat choked up.

I escaped a Houdini dream only to be shackled again

With the key tightly tucked in my mouth.

I took off with complete fuel yet landed instantly.

I fled myself and discovered a stowaway clone.

I isolated the first person pronoun on a village-less peak

But the grand and mighty eye could still see.

I pushed the planet away and it looped back around.

I walked off a concrete cliff that turned out to be just a step.

Road Dance

20 07 2007

Deep sighs inflate gray memories of life and love and sway
On sunken breezes escalate the bright and swollen day.

Grass, so high… you can lose your dog, grafted with rosé pirouettes
And smooth lined silhouettes
And perfect golden rod roads that heat the way.

Leaves fall and tango the ground and dance from point to view
Like notes on a page of a foreign text;
Like burrowed animals who taste the dew.

Dangled above the sun’s embers, triangular noises meet paperback surprises
And triplet shuffles greet the moon as he rises;
Invigorating the rhythm of what the wind may do.

Chilled olive
Suspended
On a
Parallel pike
Intrusion.

Funneled fan
Over
Quick glances that
Meld into
Rapid banter.

Sippings and sip
Slip
Around
Slender and
Delicate pedestals.

Random pairings
Sit
Juxtaposed
To
Standing Standards.

Summermaw

Her porch would breed the banter
And laughter swelled the planks.
Her garden lit by firefly
And fielded fancy flanks.

Afternoons by tea cup
Captured in her view.
Sun drenched mountain hilltops,
Snapdragons wet with dew.

Her porch would breed the banter
And laughter filled her fields;
An autumn born remembrance
With childlike faith revealed.
